Nicole Yakatan, Senior Analyst for Charney Research, has more than
a decade of experience in public opinion research. She got her start
in the field with a “Fortune 500” R&D department and
has since managed literally hundreds of quantitative and qualitative
studies.
Her analytical experience includes projects
for non-profit, corporate, government, and political clients. She
has designed and conducted market research projects on a wide variety
of industries, including health care, education, software, e-commerce,
communications, travel and tourism, media, international trade,
transportation, chemicals, cosmetics, and manufacturing. Nicole
has also handled survey and focus group research for local, congressional,
statewide, national and international political candidates. International
research includes projects in Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Russia
and Israel. Her issue-oriented work is focused on the environment,
health care, workplace issues, law and justice, democratic and economic
development, children’s and teens’ issues, housing, telecommunications
and sports marketing.
Earlier in her career, Nicole worked as a senior analyst with Frederick
Schneiders Research, handling mainly corporate clients. Her political
experience includes stints under some of the country's best-known
names in polling, Stanley Greenberg, Celinda Lake, and Harrison
Hickman, for whom she served as a tactician and advisor for a variety
of issue and candidate campaigns at all levels of the electoral
process. Statewide campaign experience includes races in Connecticut,
Michigan, Kentucky, Washington, California, Maine, Nevada and Montana.
In 2000, she began to work with Charney Research, where she has
become a highly valued member of our team.
In addition to her political campaign experience,
Nicole has served as a Government and Industry Affairs specialist
for one of the largest insurance brokerages in the country. There
she directed industry-wide market research and conducted the firm's
annual survey of corporate executives.
Nicole grew up in Florida and Texas, graduated high
school in New Jersey and received her BA from the University of
Michigan in Political Science.
